1. It’s not what you do once that shapes your life. It’s what you do consistently.
It’s weird how each day seems to be the same but when you look back, so much things have changed. That proves to show that we are being shaped by what we do consistently. Our habits shaped us, so we better choose our habits.
2. Your brain is wired for survival, it was never wired to make you happy.
By understanding this fact, you’ll realized that negativity bias is just normal. Negativity bias means we are inclined to think and see things negatively than positively. We overestimate threats and underestimate opportunity. That being said, it takes an intentional approach to be positive and happy.
3. You can do whatever you set your mind on.
We have such a powerful brain that if we truly set our mind on what we want, we can totally get it. You can always find a way. You can always figure out how.
4. Why power is better than will power.
Will power will get you somewhere but it’s your why - your reason, your purpose that will keep you going.
5. Faith can move mountain.
Miracles happen to those who believe. You have to fully embrace what you believe to finally see it in reality.
6. Fear holds you back from the best things in life.
Imagine what your life could be if you are not afraid.
7. Be 100% honest of how you feel.
There’s no point of living life with a mask. Be genuine even though it may mean losing some people’s approval. After all, pleasing people is a pointless goal. It goes without saying that go overboard and care less on people. Be genuine but be kind and respectful. It goes hand in hand.
8. Choose your battles.
Not everything that goes in your way is your battle. Not everyone who don’t agree with you is an enemy.
9. Live in the moment.
In this generation where wifi is part of basic needs, living in the moment is a real struggle. But when mastered, it’s a serious life skills.
10. Script life to some degree.
Plan as much as you can. Handle the controllable, let go of the rest.
11. Do everything before you’re ready.
You will never be ready so just hit the bullet.
12. Be passionate.
Doing something without giving your best is a waste of time. Be fully engaged in whatever you do.
13. Nothing can dim the light that shines from within.
Nothing and noone can takeaway the goodness inside you. Let it shine! The world needs your light.
14. Set goals - yearly, monthly, daily. You’ll live a more meaningful life.
Set goals for yourself. It’s like journeying with a road map. Begin with the big picture then break it down to small chunks and crunch it day by day.
15. Genuinely know yourself. Use your strength and embrace your flaws.
If you fully accept who you are, then you have the capacity to bring out the best in you.
16. Make health a priority.
Whatever you want to achieve in life, there’s no point in getting there and not having the strength or a healthy body to enjoy it.
17. Personal finance in a nutshell - live within your budget, save, get insured, invest.
Live within your budgets is a short phrase for living below your income, creating a budget and sticking to it and never getting into debt. The other steps are pretty much easy.
18. The greatest regret in life is not loving enough.
There’s no point in holding back love that you can give. You can’t keep it for yourself. So love as much as you can, as much as you want.
19. Hold yourself responsible for your happiness.
What really makes you unhappy is the sets of rules you set for yourself. Make it hard for other people to upset you and make it easy for yourself to be happy.
20. Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.
We can’t control the painful things that can happen to our life but we can control how long we let the pain dwell in us.
21. Success is subjective.
Some define success as having a lot of money, some having a family, some on traveling a lot. Define success for yourself and pursue it.
22. Accept the impermanence of life.
Nothing is permanent and let this fact motivates you to appreciate everything that you have right now.
23. Understand people’s love language.
Some people prefers gift over appreciation. Some attention over gifts. Knowing their love language will make you understand them better.
24. Nothing beats the good old flowchart.
Know the process and stick to it. Or better, improve it. Create a process to see progress.
25. Minimalism is the best lifestyle.
Challenge yourself to assess what is important to you. Live with that and eliminate the rest.
26. Take a polaroid picture of what you really want in life.
Define what you really really want. Be so sure about it. Picture it in your mind. Dream about it and never let go until you see it in reality.
27. Let God be God.
That says it all.
28. Count your blessings.
Be grateful about what you have, appreciate the life that is in front of you. You might realize you already have what you want.
29. You can live the life you’ve always wanted.
You can. Believe that you can.
30. You are not old at 30.
In fact you are never old. We are taught that there is a prime of life, throw that idea out of the window. There’s no prime. It only gets better.
